It came to my attention that I should probably broadcast this again. I have a project cataloguing Japan's electromechanical arcade history.
aka
a foreigners' guide to eremeka arcades - 外国人のためのエレメカアーケードゲームガイド
I've documented 5700+ machines. The database is tracking Japan's arcade history from the earliest traces to the introduction of coin-op machines to the post-war reconstruction and on to arcade dominance.
I want to point out the research publication list link where it gives you a full list of our acquired research materials. Scanned items are linked, so it gives you an idea of the materials that are left to scan.
I gave a presentation on the database for Replaying Japan 2025, video and transcript included.
