scans: Computopia 1968-02 & Canadian Vending Magazine 1961-05

2 very different types of scans, but they're both from the 1960s and they both have some very interesting images from niche industries. Computopia were part of a stack that a kind person at Pinball Expo helped us acquire with a surprise donation. Canadian Vending Magazine was a gift from my friend Sparky.

This blog stands in protest against the USA's horrific attempts to eliminate trans people from society. Trans people have always existed, in every society, but the administration has embraced a moral panic, declared a war against reality, and says that trans people can no longer be allowed to exist. This includes making their healthcare illegal, censoring books and school curriculum from university level down to elementary school, banning trans people from bathrooms, and declaring trans existence to be child abuse.

This blog stands in solidarity with all of the youth who are being terrorized by a fascist president who has declared them to be threats that must be eliminated.

The USA is disappearing random brown people off the streets via unidentified masked men and shipping them off to concentration camps and notorious foreign prisons, all with no due process. Solidarity for all who are in the gaze of this American Nazism terror campaign against its own people.

Another wonderful batch of magazines!  Most of these were magazines I purchased alongside Detchibe and others at Gaming Alexandria.  The Computopia however was funded by a generous person I met at Pinball Expo last year.  Scanning done by Detchibe.

It's been a while since we've had a fresh Play Meter scan so I will share that here as well.  Hubz has been scanning the Play Meters and while I did not fund most of them, I think I donated a stack of them.

This blog stands in protest against the horrific eliminationist policies being enacted by the USA to remove trans people from society.  Trans people have always existed, in every society, but this administration has declared a war against reality and says that trans people can no longer be allowed to exist.  Trump's executive orders say that trans children should be abused at school, in their home, in public, and at hospitals.  Trump's orders are a decree to destroy all traces of trans existence from society, and that all trans people are subhuman threats and liars who should not be allowed to exist publicly.  He is attacking children, he is attacking families, and he is delighting in his sadism.

This blog stands in solidarity with all of the youth who are being terrorized by a president who has declared them to be threats that must be eliminated.

scans: Amusement Sangyo 1975-05 & Computopia 1968-01

Two very cool magazines out of Japan.  The first is an extremely rare issue of Amusement Sangyo that I bought along with 2 others at Gaming Alexandria. Thank you to Detchibe for scanning them.

The second is the first from a stack of Computopia・コンピュートピア issues we were able to purchase thanks to a donation.  When I went to Pinball Expo 40 I got to meet many wonderful people.  I was talking about our archiving efforts with a man named Patrick and he mentioned his interest in early computing, and I relayed a story about a stack of Computopia on YJA that we had seen, but didn't have the funds for.  Thanks to Patrick's generosity and trust, we were able to purchase the stack and this issue is the first of the lot.  1968!!  It even has an article on 21st century computers and artificial intelligence.

For my readers in the USA: Your incoming administration has embraced a moral panic and have put forward legislation to make the existence of trans people illegal.  If you proudly support these anti-science oligarchs who delight in torturing the minorities they demonize, then please do not come back to my blog. My efforts are not for you, they are in SPITE of you.

Do not tell me I am sub-human and unworthy of dignity and then thank me for my work on pinball history.
