It's Kaikader time! Another clip passed my way by James at Pinballspotting. Jump to 6:54 in the clip for the arcade. This episode came out July 29, 1972 and is called 呪いオレンジアントの死の挑戦, aka Noroi Orenji Anto no Shino Chōsen, aka The Accursed Orange Ant's Deadly Challenge.
"hey let's go into this awesome arcade!"
Why it's the coolest of the cool, a 1966 Sega Basketball!
Next we pan upwards and get a glimpse of our first cabinet... COULD IT BE?
Pan up further and OH YES THE STEERING WHEEL! Folks, we have the incredible Sega Stunt Car from 1970!
I really want to own a Sega Stunt Car some day.
did you notice the machine in the background in the prior screenshot? With the yellow and blue? Well turns out it's just for phones? Is that right? Or was it modified by the production crew?
it does look like an arcade cab, but yeah it's just phones? On the left we see a better shot of the Sega Basketball |
EDIT 2021-10-21: check it out!

A further pan gives us a glimpse of a marquee to the right:
"Hey, what's that over there?" they (don't actually) say as I glance at the large white sign on the left.
"uhhhh, it's a guy on a duck." yes sure, but I'm sorry can you move, I need to read that sign behind you
the wall of machines would like something like this photo:
ON THIS BLOG WE STAN SMART BALL! |
More specifically, I think we can say that the smart ball in Android Kaikader is Happy Special

As the camera pans left we see that there are 5 pinball machines (to the immediate right of Sega Stunt Car)
The first one (leftmost) is Bally's Joust from 1969
The 2nd machine is Bally's Camelot from 1970 (are they working a theme here?)
The 4th machine, based on the white cabinet with the red triangle (pointed down) beneath the backglass, is a mid-60s Bally. I remember this from a prior Arcade Exploration post, had a Bally Sky Divers with the down triangle, and a Big Day with the upward one. That limits the search from 1963 to 1972 Bally machines. (or 68, really, as that seems to be when the cabinet design changed) but wait, didn't Gottlieb wedgeheads also use that design? Gah, it seems they did. Oh no, and some Chicago Coin machines too! and some early 60s Williams!
It kind of looks like a one-player game, but it could be that there is a second score real at the bottom obfuscated by the glare. We can see from the backbox trim that it's probably not a Gottlieb wedgehead like Psychedelic, or no vertical red stripes like Gottlieb Fun Park. Well, maybe there are vertical stripes? It's hard to see. The biggest aspect to note is the side profile and how the backbox trim flares out at the top.
OK so I think it's a Bally wedgehead like Magic Circle, as we have the white box, the red downward arrow, and the backbox lip at the top. Kind of like Discotek...
The closest match I can make it Bally's 1965 Bullfight, but I don't think that's the one. The backglass in the arcade has a yellow/orange colour slightly rising in angle towards the right-hand side. Bullfight's yellow extends rightward with a line parallel to the top. I would also expect to see a hint of a red blotch for the toreador's cape. If you can help, please comment below!
On the fifth machine we have the least details to work with, and the glare from the Smart Ball sign is bad, obfuscating any discernable colours or patterns on the bottom third of the glass. But along the top we can see light purple / blue, dark purple, then light purple/blue again. Doesn't it kind of look... angular?
why yes, the fifth pinball is a Williams Aces & Kings from 1970.
BTW If you haven't seen my break-down of the Supaidaman episode from 1978 you should go check that as well. I have updated that post to include a newer link to the video.
