Fresh scans done by Joey aka Detchibe! These were purchased by me and others on Gaming Alexandria.

You might ask yourself "Caitlyn why do you spend your money on rare magazines that you never even touch?" and the answer is that I think these are neat. I just like it. I want to leave this hobby in better condition than when I found it.  It's a small thing but I'm happy to be part of a collective effort to preserve arcade history from across the globe.

This blog stands in protest against the USA's horrific attempts to eliminate trans people from society. Trans people have always existed, in every society, but the administration has embraced a moral panic, declared a war against reality, and says that trans people can no longer be allowed to exist. This includes making their healthcare illegal, censoring books and school curriculum from university level down to elementary school, banning trans people from bathrooms, and declaring trans existence to be child abuse.

This blog stands in solidarity with all of the youth who are being terrorized by a fascist president that has declared them to be threats that must be eliminated.

The USA is disappearing random brown people off the streets via unidentified masked gestapo and shipping them off to concentration camps and notorious foreign prisons, all with no due process. The world witnessed ICE execute a mother and a nurse and then lie about what we saw. Solidarity for all who are in the gaze of this American Nazism terror campaign against its own people.

Another wonderful batch of magazines!  Most of these were magazines I purchased alongside Detchibe and others at Gaming Alexandria.  The Computopia however was funded by a generous person I met at Pinball Expo last year.  Scanning done by Detchibe.

It's been a while since we've had a fresh Play Meter scan so I will share that here as well.  Hubz has been scanning the Play Meters and while I did not fund most of them, I think I donated a stack of them.

To my readers in the USA: This blog stands in protest against the horrific eliminationist policies being enacted by your administration to remove trans people from society.  Trans people have always existed, in every society, but this administration has declared a war against reality and says that trans people can no longer be allowed to exist.  Trump's executive orders say that trans children should be constantly terrorized: at school, in their home, and at the hospitals.  Trump's orders are a decree to destroy all traces of trans existence from society, and that all trans people are subhuman threats and liars who should not be allowed to exist publicly.  This is nazi-style cultural genocide and everyone needs to do what they can to stop it.  He is attacking children, he is attacking families, and he is delighting in his sadism.

It is very hard to continue working on hobby shit in the face of the extreme Christofascist horrors being inflicted upon millions. Another huge haul!  These are magazines that were funded by myself and others at Gaming Alexandria, and scanned mostly by Detchibe and some by Hubz.  A lot of money and time went into acquiring and scanning these. It's a major effort to debind and scan these huge volumes.

For my readers in the USA:  This blog feels like a futile exercise in the face of the incoming administration striving to eliminate trans people from society.  Their moral panic has been backed by some of your countries most craven billionaires in the hopes they can plunder your wallets while inventing new reasons for you to hate minorities and destroy the lives of LGBTQ people.

My continued efforts here exist in spite those who would support those horrific anti-trans policies.  If you support these monstrous attacks please unfollow and/or block me on all social media and take my blog out of your RSS reader.  My work here is not for you.

Do not tell me I am sub-human and unworthy of dignity and then thank me for my work on arcade history.

scans: Amusement Sangyo 1975-05 & Computopia 1968-01

Two very cool magazines out of Japan.  The first is an extremely rare issue of Amusement Sangyo that I bought along with 2 others at Gaming Alexandria. Thank you to Detchibe for scanning them.

The second is the first from a stack of Computopia・コンピュートピア issues we were able to purchase thanks to a donation.  When I went to Pinball Expo 40 I got to meet many wonderful people.  I was talking about our archiving efforts with a man named Patrick and he mentioned his interest in early computing, and I relayed a story about a stack of Computopia on YJA that we had seen, but didn't have the funds for.  Thanks to Patrick's generosity and trust, we were able to purchase the stack and this issue is the first of the lot.  1968!!  It even has an article on 21st century computers and artificial intelligence.

For my readers in the USA: Your incoming administration has embraced a moral panic and have put forward legislation to make the existence of trans people illegal.  If you proudly support these anti-science oligarchs who delight in torturing the minorities they demonize, then please do not come back to my blog. My efforts are not for you, they are in SPITE of you.

Do not tell me I am sub-human and unworthy of dignity and then thank me for my work on pinball history.
